The Tuesday Club: Mergers and Acquisitions (M&A) Issues
On 11 December, 2018, the Star Online reported that Malaysia has seen a major reduction in corporate deal activity this year with total deals in mergers and acquisitions (M&A), private equity/venture capital (PE/VC) and initial public offerings (IPO) valued at US$12.5 billion compared with the record levels in 2017 with deals worth US$20.3 billion. Global advisory firm Duff & Phelps said this could be due to political changes and businesses taking a wait-and-see approach on strategic growth initiatives.
During this Tuesday Club, we take a closer look at the concepts of Mergers & Acquisition in Malaysia and the applicable regulatory system or practices that may affect businesses. Our speaker from GM Tan & Company will break down a couple of illusions and fears regarding mergers and acquisitions by providing a humanistic perspective of the subject.
