PENANG: The GDVT Industrial Management Programme was officially launched on 25 June 2018 at the Penang Skills Development Centre (PSDC) in the presence of chief minister of the state of Penang, YB Chow Kon Yeow and executive director and CEO of MGCC, Mr Daniel Bernbeck.

The chief minister also witnessed and endorsed the official signing ceremony of the MoU between PSDC and Wawasan Open University (WOU).

In the presence of about 60 representatives of local and international companies, training institutions and members of the media, the chief minister officially launched the new programme under the German Dual Vocational Training (GDVT) concept for industrial management.

According to Bernbeck, "MGCC is there to help both the industry as well as the government of Malaysia with best-in-class curricula and training concepts on the basis of public-private partnerships."

This is yet another program under the supervision of the Malaysian-German Chamber of Commerce and Industry to boost TVET in Malaysia. This programme is aimed at improving the level of skills of the young population of Malaysia, providing the workforce desperately needed by the industry and thus securing the wellbeing of the society. This can only be achieved through education focusing on state-of-the-art technology, energy efficient production methods and competitive working styles.
